Get real–time monitoring and antispyware protection with Pc–cillin Anti–Virus, this program comes with free email, chat and telephone support and works with all versions of Vista.

Ease of Use:

This program has a straightforward interface that is as easy to use as the Windows Security Center.

Effectiveness:

PC–cillin antivirus software detected and blocked all viruses during our tests. This software also received the VB 100% award, is certified by ICSA and passed the level 1 & 2 Checkmark from West Coast Labs.

Updates:

On average this product is updated daily, although this is enough for most threats, we would like to see more frequent updates. Trend Micro also posts outbreak notices and threat levels so you can stay up–to–date on the newest hazards.

Feature Set:

This security program has protocols for protecting PCs against viruses, worms and Trojan horses as well as spyware, rootkits and malware. It scans incoming files real–time, including emails, downloads and files from portable storage devices. You can also schedule scans, run customized scans or conduct a scan on demand. However, it does not offer P2P file sharing or registry start up protection, but this is not uncommon, of the products we reviewed only BitDefender offers both of these features.

Ease of Installation:

As long as you remove any existing antivirus program before your install, you should not have any problem installing and setting up this program. We had our demo up and running within minutes.

Help/Support:

Trend Micro provides free email, telephone and chat support. They also post information online and include help with the program.

Summary:

Overall, this program performs about as well as its competitors but BitDefender is more affordably priced and Kaspersky, for the same price, scans faster and updates more often.
